On Saturday 4th July, the Victorian Government announced a lockdown of residents in nine public housing tower blocks in North Melbourne and Flemington.
There were significant problems in the way this lock-down was managed. Many residents were left without food, medicine or information about what was happening for a number of days days.
We need an independent inquiry into how the lockdown was managed, like we’re getting for the quarantine hotels, so we can learn from this experience and keep everyone safe in the future.

During the lockdown of public housing, many people were left without food, information, medicine or supplies for a number of days.
We need to make sure lessons are learnt so no-one else has to go through what residents in these 9 towers have experienced.
Email Premier Andrews now to call for an independent inquiry into the management of Melbourne's public housing lockdown.
